Local flow, otherwise kwown as sideflow, represents the hydrologic input to a river between specified upstream and downstream points. In the NWS Community Hydrologic Prediction System, 'effective' locals are computed by subtracting routed upstream flows from downstream flows. This method applies to the past and future flows. XML files containing 6hr time series of effective local flow are offered in this download area. The time timeseries extends 10 days back and 10 days into the future. The file name includes the five charactor NWS identifier for a given location as well as the 'T zero(0)' model time in GMT. In CHPS, T0 demarks the end of the observed period and the beginning of the forecast period. In CHPS, T0 is always set to 12Z for any given issuance day. Forecasts are issued daily and updated through the day, as needed. An archive of forecasts will be available through the NWRFC download page, however, for any given day only the last forecast issued for the day will be provided.
